Short film idea – shot list (Quick notes and initial mindmap)

In case my film gets made, here is a shot list, for what I think it would look like. Actually, this is one of the first things I wrote for the film, and then started writing pitches and outlines.

Scene 1. First day

Shot 01: dark; sound of hammering; fade-in
Shot 02: empty street; dusk (after sunset)
Shot 03: door – spotlight; everything else is darker
Shot 04: cross-cuts: door – street – door – street – door
Shot 05: cyclist passing along the street; the camera doesn’t follow him, but instead just shows him coming and going out of the scene
Shot 06: door again; street – knocking (cont’d)

Shot 07: street shot; dog barking in the background
Shot 08: doorbell (free sample) – on the doorstep
Fade-out

Scene 2. Second day

Shot 09: dark; sound of a doorbell; fade-in
Shot 10: lonely street; again – dusk
Shot 11: door – spotlight (continue doorbell; no answer)
Shot 12: door – street – door – street – door
Fade-out

Scene 3. Third day

Fade-in
Shot 13: lonely street; dusk
Shot 14: spotlight – doorstep – the doorbell is back there with a note: ‘Thanks, but we’re not interested.’
Fade-out
