AT THE DOOR
Short Film Treatment
A humble but insistent SALESMAN on a typical workday, аnd his antisocial CLIENTS. Little did he know what he might find behind the DOOR…
Day 1. An empty street at dusk in a British suburb – twin houses with parked cars and small front gardens. We hear a constant hammering on a door. Although it sounds insistent, no one seems to answer. There is a feeling of quietness and loneliness – the street is empty, only a cyclist passes at some point. The hammering continues. We hear a dog bark. Street sounds are to be heard somewhere far. In the end, we see a male’s hand putting a free sample of a doorbell on the doorstep.
Day 2. Same lonely street, dusk. Instead of hammering, we hear a doorbell ringing. Again no answer.
Day 3. Same street at dusk. We see there is no doorbell at the door. When we look down, the free sample is back in the package. There is a handwritten note with it: ‘Thanks, but we’re not interested.’
